The Final Frame

  • (Spoilers!)

    Tarantino Strikes Again!

I was led to beleive this movie is Tarantino’s worst, which could not be farther from the truth.

This movie is so much fun! Not as much fun at Kill Bill Vol 1, but still great. Kiddo’s name reveal and Bill’s face reveal are peak Tarantino Tension. Uma Thurman’s performance with Pai Mei is great! The reveal of Kiddo’s daughter living with Bill at the end is so good! One of the better Tarantino twists in my opinion.

The only part where this movie falls off for me is the ending. The daughter is great, and that fight scene at the end where Kiddo Kills Bill, so good. However the other scenes are lomg and drawed out for what feels like time consumption. Kinda feels like Tarantino just wanted to hit the 2 hour 15 minute mark.

In addition, Micheal Madsen delivers one of his weaker performances between this movie, Hateful Eight, and Resevoir Dogs. This is arguably worse than his performance in “The Doors” starring Val Kilmer, which I did not particularly like, and Micheal Madsen didn’t help.

I would love to see this movie spliced onto the end of Kill Bill Vol 1 to get the full experience.

I understand that this is an homage to some of Tarantino’s favoroite movies, Kung Fu Movies from japan that are shot in a similar style. Tarantino just adds his personal flare to it, which is always fun.

I don’t think this is Tarantino’s worst, I’d give that to Death Proof or Jackie Brown, but this certainly isn’t his best work in my eyes, simply just because the Kung Fu genre of movies doesn’t resonate with me, which is fine.

I give this movie a 6/10. Good and fun but, not a whole lot more than that.

  • For my first movie reveiw I will reveiw Guy Ritchie’s “Snatch”. Now, for my first reveiw this is a big movie to tackle, especially with my take on this film.

I think this movie is OVERRATED.

I was led to beleuive this movie would crack my top 10, and within the ifrst 5 minutes I knew where It would land within my ratings.

This movie is “Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels” with more money in the casting department. It’s better than Lock, Stock, and Two Smorking Barrels, but not by much. This young Guy Ritchie style of movie doesn’t excite me like it does for many others.

This movie does have its flashes. Brad Pitt is always great. He knocks his performance out of the park. Jason Statham does a great job. ther than that I am not to impressed with anything else about this movie to be completely honest.

    I give this movie a 6/10.

On my list of every movie I have ever watched, ranked in order of my favorite to my least favorite, it lands at 146/346.

    Until the next movie reveiw!
